Email Forwarding with Amazon Route53

Introduction

To update your MX records with this Domain Name System (DNS) provider, first understand MX records.

Steps

  1. Log in to your account at https://aws.amazon.com/console/ by entering your username and Password.  
  2. Go to your DNS records ( Under AWS Services, click Route 53. If you can't find Route 53, look under Networking & Content DeliveryClick Hosted zones. Select the domain you want to set up with @Emailforward. Go to record sets.
  3. First, delete the current MX records that send mail to your old email provider. After that you'll add new MX records for @Emailforward.mx.
  4. To direct your email to your @Emailforward.mx account, you have to add new MX records to your domain. These are the records that you need to add: mx1.emailforwardmx.com with Priority 10 and mx2.emailforwardmx.com. with Priority 20
  5. Click save.
